Simply put, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) works better on
PDF documents than it does on TIFF and JPEG documents.
To OCR a TIFF file, assuming you want to keep it in TIFF format,
a separate text file is also required. Using PDF format, which is
engineered to have a hidden text layer, you don't need a separate
